Siyaah.. (2013) Reviews
No horror , No Scare , Nothing at all
I don't write reviews but my lost 2 hours compelled me to write this review. This is a D-Grade movie with no horror. The acting was disastrous. Cinematography is like a drama level. This movie is way worse than horror series 'Aahat'. Worst episode of Aahat is way much better than this movie. If you don't have enough budget then why you make movies like this.
Very Impressive
One of the best horror movie I have watched in a while. The ending was a surprise twist. I watch like 10 horror movies in a week, and this movie has definitely left a lasting impression....
Surprising Twist and Engaging....
I am very old member of IMDb but hardly try to write any review about any movies. I visit this site several times of the day and read many review about movies before watching them. Today i watch Siyaah, i was amazed with the direction and acting. I have seen many Pakistani movies and most of them does not have plot, story and direction element. I like this movies, and as soon as i finished this movie i move to director page to see next direction of director. Movie is engaging, pace of the movie little slow but it worth it, some surprising twists, on low budget movie director has done excellent job. I recommend this movie and would like to watch next direction of director. As this is from my country and our country do not produce brilliant movies, i am giving 8 out of 10 stars to this movie
Wasted Premise
I mean good God. What is it with movie makers of horror genre, and their almost fetishist need to come up with something different. The best horror movie seen last was 'Conjuring' and there was nothing out-of-the-box. Just good old fashioned horror. Nothing wrong with that. In fact it is the good stuff that makes the movie engaging. For the first hour in this movie - I was like damn this is good. Thereafter I started to worry that the director may have lost his marbles, and by the end I was ready to wring his neck for compensation in wasting my time with this horse-manure. I hate movies that built up a great premise and then waste it in an effort to be different. This movie hits the bulls-eye in that genre. Couples struggling with a personal tragedy move into a new home and are immediately threatened with some unseen force. Great premise. Enter the orphan .... hmmm movie starts going side ways. By the time the dialogue is muttered by the female lead that 'you should believe in devil as he believes in you', it becomes distinctly clear that movie is on a very slippery slope to crapsville. Scenes thereafter become a rehash of various English/korean/Japanese horror. And the ending --- well congratulations to the director for coming up with such an obscure ending that may well be above and beyond all senses. Just 3/10 and that too only for a good premise. Hopefully someone good can use this premise in future and give us an ending it deserves. Actors were good but wasted. Production quality was good but wasted.
