Recep Ivedik 4 (2014) Reviews
Everything wrong with Turkish cinema
Recep Ivedik is an example of cinematic parasitism. It is a product created solely to profit from as many people as possible by providing as little content as possible. Outliving the sympathy generated by its humble beginnings, the series has become stale, endlessly recycling the same subject matter of a (once) lovable crude protagonist against the elite intelligentsia of the country. A mixture of slapstick and juvenile scat humor, it accomplishes nothing in the realm of comedy. A crude, cheaply filmed waste of time which is a shame considering the brave and creative strides Turkish filmmaking has taken in recent years. Technically embarrassing, this is one of those rare films which actually take an entire cinema industry backwards in progress. 2/10
That is a Shame for Turkish Cinema
As a Turkish, I hate this movie series. The only point of these movies' is profit. There is no witty jokes, there is no real comedy. There is only a man who is the rudest person in the world. But a lot of ignorant people watching this terrible, horrible movie. I am sorry for real actors, actresses, directors and product's. In fact, there are some really good movies in Turkey but this is the worst example of Turkish cinema. I suggest that watch Cem Yılmaz's movies. He is one of the best Turkish comedian. You can watch his movies or stand-up shows. I guess, you will like them.
Great Balkan humor
The movie contains a lot of fun momentс and humor specific for the Balkan countries. Recep Ivedik is strong and tough, a man of his word. Sometimes he is little silly, but very honest and even likable. His harsh tone is very typical for the country. What makes it so fun is that Recep is actually right with everything he said. The way he achieve his goals is hilarious. There is nothing impossible for him. To understand the movie, you should be familiar with the Balkans manners and customs. Some people with get offended of the rough attitude of the main character. But as you watch more movies with Balkan humor, as normal this will appears to you. Enjoy the great movie !
Bad Film
Recep İvedik is bad movie. This movie. This film was shot just to make money. This film just been admitted to a silly way to make people laugh. The screenplay and editing of the film is very poor. This film the worst comedies in Turkey. I would not recommend this movie. This film shameful disgrace. Not even funny but also a silly movie. Really Funny, If you'r Turk. But also worst movie I watched in my life.
Great movie but not for all types of audience
This film is a wonderful and refreshing comedy. It portrays the typical funny, low class, and stupid in an over-exaggerated way person in Turkey that fits the stereotype of the eastern European low class person as well. Undoubtedly, you will have a much greater laugh if you are a native speaker since Recep Ivedik's use of language is so brutal and simple, not in a too vulgar way which is the thing that makes you laugh the most throughout the comedy scenes. His personality and arrogance are portrayed very well as well and you successfully get the idea of what type of person Recep is. I didn't get bored at any point of the movie and found myself laughing out loud on several occasions which usually happens rarely. Would not recommend to American audience though.
