• Good But Not One of Lifetime's Best

  I was really looking forward to this Lifetime movie especially since I am a big fan of Elizbeth Rohm from Law & Order - she really should be working more! The movie starts out with the perfect parents and a beautiful teen who just got accepted into her dream college. For some silly reason she takes nude pictures of herself and saves them on her computer. Next thing she knows the pictures are online and EVERYONE has seen them. Her mother goes to war with the site that posted the pictures and he turns their life into a nightmare. The topic of internet revenge porn was timely. This is a huge problem for women. The biggest lesson of this movie was do NOT take nude pictures ever for any reason!!! It was a pretty good movie but one of the twists was so obvious I guessed it right away (no spoilers here). I've seen better on Lifetime and I've seen worse. This was a good way to waste a couple of hours on a Sunday night. If you're a fan of cheesy Lifetime movies you should watch this one.

  Troy (Mark Grossman) and Rachel (Celesta DeAstis) were high school sweethearts who never "did it." Troy wants something to take with him to college, Rachel needs to work another year. Rachel reluctantly agrees to let Troy take pics of her tatas. When Rachel finds out her and Troy are no longer "exclusive" she and her mom (Jennifer Dorogi) literally toss the guy out. The next thing you know her pictures are posted on a site called "Revenge Porn" with personal data, such as where she works. This causes issues as strangers show up and everyone in town has suddenly seen her fine proportional firm teen glands. We the audience only see bra and panty shots. The issues were certainly overblown. Who really cares anymore? The site, when contacted refused to take down the pics unless paid, like the Jail Report. Normally they operate above board and when requested, pics are removed as they require a signed release form. Being Rachel looked young, a simple claim she is a minor, would quickly get the photo removed as sites such as Revenge Porn, know child pornography will get them shut down in an instant. 34 states have revenge porn laws including the one where this was filmed. Perhaps this wasn't the best film to draw attention to the issue. This was an Asylum, made for US Lifetime TV. Acting and plot accordingly. No swearing, sex, or nudity.

• Too little too late

  This might have been appropriate for 1996, but it's way too late in 2016. This is poorly written and badly directed. Mom and daughter seek redress for revenge porn site. A great idea, but they run into too many roadblocks and unsympathetic citizens. I find it hard to believe that that many people visit a revenge porn site. The fact that she gave no model release for the use of the photos on the site should be sufficient to have them taken down. There is another film from 2016 with this title, different actors (Jodelle Ferland is not in it). Why would there be two, with the same plot in the same year? In the other one, which is not here for some reason, the mother is played by Jennifer Dorogi, and the daughter by Celesta Deastis. The men are all horrible and most of the women righteous. Like I said, badly written.

• Lurid Selfie

  Later claiming she was contemplating having her "boobs done," pretty 18-year-old Tiera Skovbye (as Peyton Harris) takes some shirtless selfies. Nobody notices a glaring error, or lie; the photos would have no relevance to a breast-enhancing surgeon. What we really see is the young actress modeling her panties. She is generously displayed and the skimpy panties draw your eyes away from anything else. Probably, the camera did not show her topless, but you will have to replay while trying not to look down. From the "Revenge Porn" title, we know those photographs are going viral. Before you can say, "Jack Robinson," the ditty pictures are splashed all over the Internet. Of course, Ms. Skovbye's entire high school is posting about them. Even worse, the pictures are sent to Skovbye's proud parents Elisabeth Rohm and David Lewis (as Elaine and David Harris), along with everyone on their email contact lists... Skovbye's good grades, "Dumforth" college scholarship and general sanity are threatened. Recovering from her shock, mother Rohm takes charge of the fight to save her daughter's sleazy reputation and catch the crook responsible for housing the sexy selfies... This timely topic is so timely it was very recently seen as "Break-Up Nightmare" (2016), which isn't the first time a dirty pictures plot reared its naughty head. "Revenge Porn" takes two paths, which differs from the aforementioned movie. One has been used frequently, elsewhere, and another is less unoriginal. The latter is more interesting, but develops without much mystery or suspense. This angle is where director Monika Mitchell and writer Kendall Clark score some points, with an engrossing drone scene and a sufficiently menacing Levi Meaden (as Carl Cooke). Alas, his character is borderline silly. Best female friend Jodelle Ferland (as Audrey) does her best in a far too predictable role. It's all so routine, but Ms. Mitchell and her crew do move it along and keep raising attention. Their scenes get to the point and waste no time, making them add up to more than they're worth. • Good flick

  Liked it. Engaging and a good zone out type flick. For a lifetime movie it's pretty good. Thank me later!
