Juha Berg is a hopeless drunkard living in Helsinki. He is 30 years old and not the slightest intention to change his life in any way. But the joy of living always with alcohol-soaked brain will be threatened when Juha falls. Juha happy Berg is an alcoholic, a hopeless drunkard living in Kallio district of Helsinki. It has about thirty years and zero intentions to change something in his life. But the joy of living always with alcohol-soaked brain becomes seriously threatened when the passionate Juha falls in love with Tiina, the leader of his group of Alcoholics Anonymous. His relationship with Tiina progressing rapidly, and the man gets to balance maintaining this relationship with his old lifestyle. Of course there is anyone in this story that makes everything he can think of to sabotage the relationship of the two: it is a woman's best friend, Kristian.

Too far off from the novels
I have read all the novels and thus had some expectations from the movie. While there were some funny and true to the novels moments, the tragedy severely overcame the comedy, which was not true to the novels. The atmosphere was completely reversed from the books and really made the movie unenjoyable. While adjusting to their own story, the script is probably too bizarre to be funny for regular viewers. They simply do not explain enough to really be able to make a similar connection as with the novels. For someone who has not read the books the movie will most likely be offending as the characters are really not explained during the movie. If you really want to enjoy the story, I can only recommend the books. Otherwise this movie was not the worst thing I've seen. The screenplay was good, the casting was OK, though somewhat twisted, and they made a complete script. So I will still give 4/10 overall.
Out loud funny with a strong psychedelic vibe, fantastic entertainment for drunks!
I'm shocked to my very core about how low the average rating is, I suspect non-drinkers won't find this funny. You might need that "been there" thing where you've been loaded for days on end. That or maybe it differs from the books and the fans are upset? Or maybe it doesn't translate well for foreign markets? I don't understand because it's honestly THE best, most preciously weird Finnish movie I've seen, ever, and one of the top comedies in the finnish/english speaking world combined. Reminds me of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. If you're the target audience do not miss it, trust me! Oh, and you might wanna watch it drunk. It's also good for replay value!
