Good enough
I'm not sure if I liked this movie or not. So my rating is 5 out of 10, a hard middle. First the good points of the movie. The story is sweet: a girl is in love with her childhood best friend. However, he gets himself a girlfriend before she built up the courage to tell him her feelings for him. So, she makes it her challenge to get her place back and become once again the main character of her life's manga. The chemistry wasn't great, but it was convincing enough and, also, the leading actress was a delight and her performance really good, as her expression changed so fast. Probably the main reason why I'm giving this movie a 5 is her. Now, the disadvantage of this movie is the way they handled the story. The film makers tried to make it look like a manga all the way and some times (most of the times) it made the film look idiotic and childish. The actors did try their best to pull them off, but still, some of them were confusing, and they messed up the flaw of the story. But in any case, it was an enjoyable movie and entertaining.
If only the comedy feel remains stable throughout the movie
The comedy aspect is strong in the first 30 minutes of the movie, it deserve 10/10 even. Extremely funny and unexpected, refreshing, at first you may think "Hey, it's really worth watching." Pity it turns out into a boring high-school love drama. I watched the movie until the credits roll, hoped that there would be some plot twist or unexpected comedy scene, but nothing more than vanilla romantic scenes. From all characters, I like Nakajima very much; her "I-don't-give-a-damn" attitude win me. The 'illogical' thing is how she don't seem really mind that Hatori keeps calling her 'stupid' over and over. Nakajima looks like a smart girl, instead.
