Ahok (Daniel Mananta) was born into a family with his father Kim Nam (Chew Kin Wah) is a mining businessman. But the business is not smooth because of corrupt people. These problems make their relationship cold. Ahok followed the steps of his father, Kim Nam opened a mine in Belitung. But apparently the same person made his business go bankrupt. Besides that, Ahok's family also experienced a tragic event. In a frantic condition, Ahok remembers his father's message to be a leader and finally, he is determined to plunge into politics.

Can't wait for the sequel "A Man Called Ahok 2"!
The movie was great!! I would've given it 10/10 if it presented in more detail how Ahok stood against corruption in his hometown, East Belitung. However I realized that the focus of this movie was not only about Ahok, but more importantly about a figure who was more famous than Ahok himself in East Belitung, Kim Nam (Ahok's father). I really hope that there will be a sequel of this movie, where it will tell more on how Ahok fought against corruption in Jakarta but those corrupted but powerful people tried their best to stop him (and they 'succeed'. For now though..) by defaming him with a sensitive issue that sadly misled lots of people.

I can't say negative things about this movie. The plot was so good, I cried sometimes and proud. In the end I feel blessed to watch this movie and I'll never forget

Anticoruption, tolerance Film
Old background mining place was so real. And the young "chew kin wah" presents a good father, a real strong man and father also as a "leader" in the small region. The problem was many corrupt case in the provence. Good family film, show the reality condition in that Era.
